National Account Manager

The News Group, the leading distribution service for book and magazine publishers, delivering to major retailers throughout the U.S. currently has an opening for a National Account Manager for our Walmart account. This position will be located in Bentonville, Arkansas and report to the Regional Vice President. Travel could be up to 50%.
- 5 to 10 Years Magazine Industry Knowledge Preferred with a strong understanding of magazine wholesaler distribution systems (in general) and industry channel participants. Must have or the ability to develop strong relationships with publishers and national distributors.
-Magazine wholesaler logistics knowledge. Understands delivery & merchandising of the category
-5 to 10 years experience calling on Walmart
-2 years experience with Walmart Retail Link System
-Walmart Store Operations Understanding: Market Managers, Regional VP’s, Store Receivers, Store Managers, Department 03 Managers, etc.
-Data base management (myWalmart.com) file and excel knowledge needed
-Strong understanding of magazine and non-magazine FEM programs as well as knowledge of fixturing manufacturing and costs
-Strong analystical skills and understanding of financials
-Great communicator - must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of managment, multiple departments and customer at the corporate, market and store level
-Must embrace teamwork and be flexible with the ability to change projects or initiatives with very little notice
-Strong leadership and management skills, must have a supervisory background
-Must be creative with the ability to produce promotional opportunities and programs that will grow sales
-Strong MS Office experience, especially MS Excel
