Purpose of this Role:
This position has responsibility for providing analytical and operational support for the MARS Snackfood US, Walmart account teams, broker partners & retail selling teams. The position also provides analytical and operational support for the development and management of marketing programs, budgets, controls and annual plans.
The Sales Analyst supports the Sales Director, retail operations team in executing programs producing brand growth and profit according to strategic and annual plans. This support includes responsibilities for tactical executions, operational support and coordination of programs with other marketing functions and Field Sales. Additionally, this support includes analysis of channel, segment, and account information, requirements and requests, problem identification and solution implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct in-depth analysis of customer data that could include: Opportunities (new distribution, promotion, gaps) Trends, Channel/customer comparisons, others as needed
Provide Segment Index Reports by Region / markets / regions in division & store level
Provide sales ranking data by region and market
Provide promotional post program sell through analysis
Provide zero sales analysis by region & markets
Identify gap fill opportunities by business segment
Provide item / ranking analysis based on program needs
Generate promotional order qty's by store for the Regions / Markets when needed
Track promotional orders delivered to store results
Work with broker associates to Communicate program cycle information & updates
Provide demographic test analysis by market when necessary
Provide Account Manager plan updates
Gather consumer insights / shopper trend information from Strategic Insights
Communication of modular changes
Pricing change communications
Drive efficiencies with retail reporting to eliminate duplicate work
Manage sponsorship events
Communicate Success Stories
Support / track Walmart regions, broker contests
· Act as integral part of team in the identification of information needs, formulate appropriate response consistent with best practices, and deliver requested information in a timely manner
· Responsible for accurate consolidation of information into an actionable format i.e., New Item authorization, Multi divisional accounts, Corporate roll-ups, pricing, ad hoc requests
· Conduct in-depth analysis of customer data that could include: Opportunities (new distribution, promotion, gaps) Trends, Channel/customer comparisons, others as needed
· Support development and delivery of sales forecasts (including checkpoints), annual plans and account plans by analyzing customer, channel, and segment information
· Provide data and updates for presentations, both internally and to customers.
· Provide project management support when needed
· Handle special requests/assignments as needed
Key Skills Required:
· Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Demonstrated analytical skills, technical skills and computer literacy competency
· Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations
· Ability to identify information needs/solve problems (technical and business related)
· Strong computer skills including Walmart retail link, Microsoft Office, Access, IRI Analyzer
· Ability to consult with clients and diagnose/identify appropriate reporting needs
· Demonstrated project management skills
· Ability to work well with others/Strong interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to work independently
· Service oriented
Minimum Qualifications: 2 years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry in Sales, Customer Service, Logistics or Marketing Services
Ability to travel 5% of the time
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of a drug and background screen
Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry in Sales, Customer Service, Logistics or Marketing Services
Bachelors degree in Business
Proficiency in MS
